Engine Company 8-1 is a 2016 Pierce Enforcer with a 1500 gpm pump and a 750 gallon water tank. There is seating for 6 firefighters. It is a twin to Engine Company 8-2. The engine is set up primarily for firefighting duties. It has a very low hosebed with 1000′ of 5″ LDH supply line, 300′ of 3″ supply line, 250′ 2 1/2″ line with a Blitzfire monitor and a “garden apartment” line consisting of 200′ of 2 1/2″, a gated wye and 200′ of 1 3/4″ line with a smooth bore nozzle. Additionally, the unit carries two 1 3/4″ crosslays and one 2 1/2″ crosslay.
The rig has hot dipped galvanized frame rails, underbody supports and water tank cradle as well as “E-Coated” undercarriage components. This was done to best prevent corrosion issues over the life span of the engine.
The graphics on the upper cab area are the logos of the 5 branches of our Armed Forces. The members of Station 1, where the rig is assigned felt this would be an appropriate logo for their engine. Many members of the station have served or are still serving our country in the Armed Forces.
